Well, Justin and I have been getting ready for Christmas and enjoying many “festive” occasions. This weekend we attended both of our office Holiday parties. Justin’s was held at an Embassy Suites in L.A., and mine was at my hotel (the Hilton Long Beach). At Justin’s party there was a casino theme, but I do not know how to play any gambling games, and Justin only knew one or two so we mostly spent time socializing with the people at our table. Before we left for the party I insisted on doing a Christmas photo shoot (since we were already dressed up and the living room was all decorated). Well, none of the pictures turned out very good, but fortunately for us there was a semi-professional photographer at the party and we had a very nice picture taken. At Justin’s party there was a neat raffle with lots of cool prizes (an iPhone, flat screen television, $500 cash). Well, we did not win any of those prizes, but I did win a new Guess purse and wallet. Everyone was howling with laughter when Justin’s name was called for that prize, and he took the opportunity to “ham” it up- even performing a strut down the imaginary catwalk with his new purse slung over his shoulder. At my party we were ineligible for any of the prizes (one downside of being in Human Resources), but I controlled the drink tickets for the night and Justin got as many as he wanted, so I think he felt it equaled out.
This is the last full week before Christmas and I know I will be busy. I have presents still to wrap, and some baking to do. We are looking forward to celebrating Christmas next Monday and Tuesay with (some) of our family.

15 days until Christmas
This weekend was the kind that makes you look forward to days off from work! On Friday night Justin and I had dinner at our friends Nick and Alicia’s house. Nick barbequed carne asada and we had such a fun time hanging out and enjoying good friends and good food. On Saturday our friends Sam and Liz were moving so we put on our “work” clothes and helped them move from their apartment in Hermosa Beach to a really cute new condo about 10 minutes away. Saturday night we enjoyed a delicious dinner with Brent & Jill in Los Alamitos. We ate at Shenandoah’s which is a family owned restaurant that serves GOOD Southern food. After watching Brent eat his body weight in apple fritters (only a slight exaggeration) we headed over to Dave and Buster’s for video games, skeet ball, basketball, and a bunch of other games. Jill and I even raced on snow mobiles!!
Sunday was the perfect end to our weekend. We enjoyed a great church service with a wonderful message from Erik Thoennes on Christ the prophet. Sunday night there was a Christmas concert at church and afterwards we had people over for festive treats and hot chocolate. I don’t think we could have had a better weekend…
