As I write this, it is 97 degrees in La Mirada, at our house. Thankfully, I am at work in a (relatively) cool office. This weekend was a HOT one, and we broke in the AC a bit more. On Saturday I went to Temecula with a few girlfriends to celebrate a birthday with some wine tasting. It was the first time I have been wine tasting, and it was a really fun experience. I am no expert when it comes to wine (I usually buy whatever is on sale!!) but I tasted some really amazing wines this weekend that have shown me how good it can really be :)   I guess this means our alcohol bill will go up now!

I realized as I looked at my work calendar this morning that it will be May in just three days. We have a really fun/full calendar for May as we will be celebrating Mother’s Day, wishing my cousin well as he leaves for a deployment with the Navy, attending a Peters family reunion in Oklahoma, and attending a wedding in Fresno. It is going to be a packed month, but we can always relax once June comes…

It’s how hot?

Yesterday it was 96 degrees outside of our house. I figured we still had at least another month until we would start needing to use the AC. We turned the unit on for the first time yesterday, and it sure made a difference! I am guessing this means we can count on the summer being super hot…
Yesterday we had a party for my mom and aunt’s birthday (they are twins). We went to a Pirate dinner show in Buena Park and then had about 16 people over for drinks and dessert. Everyone had a really good time and we got to try out all the new patio furniture. Not much else is new with us. Skyla has been shedding her winter coat and has been eagerly trying out all the “cool” spots in the backyard. Apparently lying in a ditch of dirt helps to keep her cool! (maybe us humans should try that)
