I am sure they will grow to love each other!
Sorry about being a bit MIA… Memorial Day Weekend proved to be a busy one! Chloe graduated on Saturday morning, I worked on Sunday, and Justin and I deep cleaned and organized the house. Bryant, Amy, Stone, and Radar arrive tonight and I am so excited that I couldn’t sleep last night!
I have some fun pictures to post from this weekend, but it will have to wait until I finish my To-Do list for the day.
I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!
So in efforts to clean out the guest bedroom for our soon-to-arrive houseguests, I have been forcing myself to throw things away. I mean, really… if I haven’t used it in the last 3 years… I probably won’t ever need it. Right?? It’s what I keep telling myself at least.
Anywho, I found several things from the wedding that I have no use for and didn’t want to throw away because they were brand new and someone might need them. As I was posting a “free stuff” ad on Biola’s classifieds board I came across this little gem.

Apparently while he was in OK Justin decided to teach his almost 90 year old Grandmother about the joys of Photo Booth. Awesome.
And another, just for the heck of it.

It feels so wrong to laugh at these, but I just can’t help myself.
Tonight while washing the dishes, I decided to have a long overdue heart-to-heart with Skyla. Essentially, I told her about how Radar would be here soon and she would need to share with him and be nice. I encouraged her to make him feel welcome here in the Peters Household.
When I was done speaking, Skyla made one of her most common faces… I call it the “What in the what are you talking about?!?” look.

Tonight she could have been thinking any number of things. Feel free to add your own caption!
a. Bring a new dog in here and I will smother him. And I’ll make it look like an accident.
b. I’m a dog, I’m a dog, I’m a dog… Ooohh, food crumb!
c. This lady is nuts.
Well, I am home from camping and managed to keep myself from being eaten by a bear/large spider/etc. Yesterday I did laundry, took a 2 hour nap, finished my latest book in the Anne series, and watched a Netflix movie that had been sitting in the entertainment center for several weeks.
Around 9pm Skyla and I (well, mostly just me) were scared silly by a very sizable earthquake. It went on for several seconds and I was trembling like a leaf (is that a saying?) for several moments after. Deciding that the worst could still be coming, I packed us up in the car and headed over to Dave and Sheri’s. Thank goodness for in-laws who don’t mind being intruded upon. Skyla had fun torturing their doves and I managed to take my mind off the scary gift from Mother Nature, so all was well. Side note: Aren’t dogs supposed to sense when earthquakes are coming and freak out right before? Skyla never even got up off her place on the floor next to me. All the other neighborhood dogs barked like crazy but she never made a peep.
In other unrelated news, Justin is due home from Oklahoma tonight. I have missed him and look forward to once again having someone to share the bed with/steal the covers from.
We are on final countdown to the arrival of little Radar. Bryant, Amy, Stone, and the puppy all arrive next Tuesday. Poor Skyla better enjoy her last days of solitude while they last!
I am about to head out for a weekend of camping while my hubby is in Oklahoma visiting his Grandma.
I hope to survive the weekend without losing any limbs to a bear. I am not a “camper” by nature but am going to give it my all this weekend. Who knows- maybe I will come back a changed woman. Or not.
This post is long overdue, so please excuse my tardiness! Here is the Sunday Monday Tuesday Six.
1. I am fortunate to have 3 different Moms to celebrate with on Mother’s Day. This past weekend was busy but very fun! On Saturday night I went out to dinner with my Dad’s family. Sunday afternoon we had brunch with my Mom’s family and on Sunday night I made dinner for Justin’s parents. Fun, right??
2. After brunch on Sunday we took my mom to see Star Trek. Can I just say how much I LOVE going to the movies? My mom instilled in me a love for movies very early on. It was only fitting that we saw this new movie together… If you haven’t seen it- go now! Don’t wait! It was very entertaining, even for a Star Trek virgin such as myself.
3. I am going camping this weekend! I can’t wait to spend time with my Grace Groupies, even though it will require me to use a yucky bathroom all weekend. We all have to make sacrifices, right?
4. As previously mentioned, our dear friends Jeff and Jenny welcomed their second son last week. I got to visit Mom and baby in the hospital last week and it was such a beautiful time!

5. Isn’t it wonderful that we live in an era where visiting family and friends cross-country is made possible by the ease of airplanes? Don’t get me wrong… there are times where I want to rip my hair out after a stressful flight. But when it comes down to it- I am very thankful for the ability to get to family quickly when needed.
6. Chloe is home, WAHOOO!!! We are having dinner tomorrow night and I could not be more thrilled.

Last night Jeff and Jenny had their baby!
Bennett James Spencer… what a cutie! (And he’s pretty special to have not one, but two middle names!)
